History of the site

The idea for the site came about when Perkins was teaching design and graphic design at University of Western Australia the latter found that these students have difficulty learning the basics of design by adobes software and others so he started by developing the famous platform for e-book design Fusion Books with his friend Obrecht and then Canva in partnership with another specialist in the field who is Camerone Adams.

2013 is a critical year in the site’s history, the launch of the Beta product: a simple drag and drop tool with a library of over a million photographs, graphics and fonts to choose from. This product has become widely used by professionals, the press and simple web users, which increased the site’s notoriety and the number of users to 750,000 users.
