How to convert CD in MP3 su PC
If you want to find out how to convert CD to MP3 on your Windows computer , the instructions you need to follow are the ones you find below. You can achieve this both by using the tools already included in the operating system and by resorting to the use of third-party solutions.
How to convert CD in MP3 con Media Player
If you want to convert CDs to MP3s on Windows, you can first rely on Windows Media Player , the media player included by default in almost all editions of the Microsoft operating system. Its operation is extremely intuitive.
What you have to do to be able to use it is, first of all, insert the disk to be ripped into the CD player connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player , by clicking on the Start button (the one with the Windows flag ) that you find at the bottom left of the taskbar and selecting the program link in the Start menu that has opened (if you can’t find it, to solve it, follow the instructions I gave you in my guide on how to download Windows Media Player, obviously it’s because the program is not active ).
Now that you see the Windows Media Player window, select the floppy disk icon that automatically appears in the left sidebar. At this point, click on the CD copy settings button located at the top left and first select the MP3 option from the Format menu and then the 320 kbps item from the Audio quality menu (in order to obtain files that are not exactly very small but very high quality).
Subsequently, click on the Copy from CD button which is always at the top and wait for Windows Media Player to process all the tracks on the disk. Easier than that?
If you don’t want to rip all the songs but only some of them, before clicking on the Rip from CD button , uncheck the title of the tracks you don’t want to save on your computer. The final MP3s will be saved in the Windows Music folder , in a sub-folder with the same name as the ripped album.

How to convert CD in MP3 for Mac
If you use a Mac , you can convert CDs to MP3s using Music , Apple’s multimedia software included by default in macOS for managing and playing music that has replaced iTunes since macOS 10.15 Catalina (which continues to be available for Windows ).
To be able to use it for your purpose, access the Launchpad by selecting the relative icon (the one with the colored squares ) that you find on the Dock bar and select the Music application icon (the one with the musical note ) from the new screen displayed.
When you see the Music window appear, go to the Music> Preferences menu at the top left, select the File tab in the new screen that appears, click on the Import Settings button and select the MP3 Encoder item from the Import using drop-down menu . Subsequently, choose the Custom option from the Settings drop-down menu , set the 320 kbps item from the Stereo bit rate menu located at the top of the window that opens and click the OK button to save the changes.
Now, insert the disk on which to act in the CD player connected to the Mac, click the Yes button to respond to the Music import request and wait for the process of converting the songs to MP3 to start and finish. If Musica does not show any warning, select the name of the disc that appears in the Devices menu in the left sidebar, click on the Import CD button in the upper right and confirm your intentions to start the ripping procedure.
If you don’t want to convert all the songs included on the CD but only some of them, first remove the check mark from the box next to the title of those you don’t want to save on the Mac on the diskette screen. The MP3 files generated by the application will be automatically saved in the iTunes music library.
If Music does not satisfy you, keep in mind that there are valid alternative applications for ripping CDs, as in the case of VLC and the software listed in the previous step, which are available not only for Windows but also for macOS. The operation is practically the same even on the Apple operating system.
