How to Cut a song with iTunes in macOS
As you probably already know, iTunes is part of the “standard” built-in applications in macOS and therefore you shouldn’t need to install it on Mac. In case you have uninstalled the program, however, you can reinstall it.
If your Mac is updated to macOS 10.14 Mojave or later, note that iTunes is not currently available for download as a package .dmg. This means that there is only one way to restore the program: restore macOS using Time Machine or by using the macOS reinstall function included in the Recovery. If, however, on your Mac you use macOS 10.13 High Sierra or a previous version of Apple’s operating system, you can download the iTunes installer from this page by clicking on the button Download. Once the download is complete, open the file .dmg that you have obtained and, in the window that opens, double click on Install iTunes to start the iTunes installation process.
Then follow the instructions that are provided to you on the screen: in practice you always have to press the button Come onenter the password macOS user account and restart your Mac when prompted to do so. Cut a song with iTunes
The procedure by which it is possible cut a song with iTunes it’s the same on windows what up macOS. All you have to do is launch the program, select the song of your interest and then use the appropriate function that allows you to cut it at the desired point. Find everything explained in detail below.
After launching iTunes (and possibly logging in with your Apple ID from the menu Accounts located at the top), presses on the card Bookshelf placed at the top, open thealbum containing the song you want to cut and, once you have identified the one you are interested in, click the right mouse button on it and select the item Song information from the menu that opens. If the songs you intend to operate on are not yet present in the iTunes library, add them to the latter by dragging them into the program window.
In the next window, select the tab Options and put a check mark next to the items Start And end. Next, fill in the two text fields that have just been activated by typing the start point and the end point where you want to cut the song (eg. 0:01 And 2:57 to start the song after one second and end it at 2 minutes and 57 seconds compared to the original file) and presses the button Okay placed at the bottom right to save the changes made.
Once everything is set, to proceed with cutting and saving the new song directly in the program library, select the song you just edited, open the menu Fileselect items Convert > Create AAC Version And that’s it.
Within moments, you’ll see a new version of the song appear directly in your iTunes library, with the start and end points you set earlier. If you want, now you can also get rid of the original songs: just select them with the right mouse button and click on the item Delete from library from the menu that opens. Alternatively, you can restore their original length by going back to the track information panel and unchecking Start And end.
