How to update iTunes on PC windows 10 64 bit/32 bit Linux
By default, iTunes automatically notifies you whenever a new version of the program is available. The same goes if you download the program through the Windows 10 Microsoft Store. In any case, if you use a Windows PCs and want to find out in more detail how to update itunestake a look at the instructions below.
iTunes update system
As mentioned above, iTunes has an automatic update system that periodically checks for updates and notifies the user of this. Therefore, if a new version of the program is available, you should see a warning as soon as you open it.
If this has not happened and you want to “manually” check for new versions of iTunes, proceed as follows: start the program, click on the item ? present at the top left and select the item Check for updates from the menu that opens.
If a new version of iTunes is available, you will be shown a notification about it: to proceed with its download and, consequently, with its installation, press the button Download iTunes.
If you want iTunes to automatically download updates (when available) without having to confirm each time, put the check mark next to the item Don’t ask me again.
Apple Software Update
If, when you installed iTunes on your computer, you also accepted the installation of Apple Software Updatethe program that monitors the availability of updates for all Apple software on your PC, you can also proceed through the latter.
So click on the button start Windows (the flag icon located in the lower left corner of the screen), search Apple Software Update in the appropriate text field and click on the first search result.
In the window that opens, check that iTunes is in the list of upgradeable software, make sure there is a check mark next to its name and click first on Install 1 item and then up I accept And Yupto start the program update.
Note that, in some cases, you may need to install a newer version of the Apple Software Update itself before checking for iTunes updates.

In the window that opens, if there is a check mark next to the item Keep your Mac up to date automatically, it means that the automatic updates function is already active and therefore you don’t have to do anything. Alternatively, you tick the box in question and macOS will automatically check for updates to the operating system and applications downloaded from the Mac App Store.
If you want, by clicking on the button Advance (bottom right), you can adjust the update settings in even more detail, choosing whether to activate the automatic search for them (box Check for updates), automatically download them (boxes Download new updates when available), and download/install system updates and applications downloaded from the Mac App Store (boxes Install macOS updates And Install app updates from the App Store).
macOS 10.13 High Sierra and earlier
If you use macOS 10.13 High Sierra or a previous version of the Apple operating system, to activate the automatic download of updates function, go to System Preferences (L’gear icon which is located on Dock bar) and go up up App Store.
In the window that opens, if necessary, tick the box Check for updates automatically and all the boxes below to automatically download and install updates for your operating system and applications downloaded from the Mac App Store.
the last box, Automatically download purchased apps to other Mac computersdoes not concern updates, but the possibility of automatically downloading applications from the Mac App Store to your computer using other Macs associated with the same Apple ID.
In case of problems
If, despite my instructions, you still haven’t been able to update iTunes, there is probably some error that prevents you from completing the operation.
